I had been wanting to visit and fish in New Zealand for a long time and my wife and I were finally able to make it to the South Island In January of 2023.  I was put in touch with Todd through a "friend of a friend" connection at my local fly shop.  I had told Todd roughly what I wanted out of our three days together before I got there and also at the beginning of the first day and he put together three very memorable days for me on three very different streams in the general area of Queenstown.  Todd is obviously a very good outdoorsman and fisherman and he tutored me in what it actually takes to approach, cast to, and hopefully hook the trout there.  I was able to land a couple large (for me) browns and several beautiful rainbows in some really interesting and beautiful rivers.  It is certainly in my mind to get back there in the next couple of years and I will make an effort to book Todd again when I do.  I found him to be highly professional, knowledgeable, hardworking, and the right mix of encouraging and demanding about the casting skills required to be successful down there.  We had a great time together and feel like I made a new friend along the way.
